A proposed design for the official logo of Methodist's University newly formed Division of Natural Sciences.

Prospected as the unifying for the chemistry, biology, anatomy, and physical science departments of Methodist University, this task would focus on saying a lot with very little. Going into this assignment, my focus was creating a logo that hearkened back to the classic seals and crests used for universities. After several revisions, the design displayed became the submitted concept that would be chosen as the primary basis for the eventual finalized logo. Featured on this concept is a black and gold checkerboard surrounded by a green outer ring. This is flanked by a golden laurel wreath which emerges from a golden banner displaying the division's motto and establishment year. Finally, a golden crown with a simple cross motif adorns the top of the crest and ties the entire logo together into one cohesive design.
